Gum Care & Prevention
A healthy smile can be a great asset. We understand that this is important, so it makes sense to give your teeth and gums the best care possible.
To maintain a healthy mouth it is recommended to brush at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste whilst also cleaning in between the teeth with floss or interdental brushes, limiting sugary snack intakes and maintaining a healthy balanced diet.
The basic gum care carried out at home will be supplemented by careful scaling treatment carried out by either the dentist or hygienist in the practice at routine appointments.
A clean and healthy mouth will improve your appearance, help you keep your teeth and give you fresh breath and confidence.
Sometimes gum tissue can be too low on one or both sides of the mouth (gummy smile). There are treatments available to achieve good gum architecture and shape; these may be enough to give the perfect smile but they maybe part of the treatment plan of the overall smile-makeover.
